Local Seeds: Nature's Survival Packages

  • Pound Ridge Library 271 Westchester Avenue Pound Ridge, NY, 10576 United States (map)

Join us for an engaging conversation about how the quality of our environment rests largely on our plants. Here in Pound Ridge, we prefer native species of introduced, or worst yet, invasive species.

Help to fight the battle for biodiversity by expanding your relationships to, knowledge of, and support for our native plants. Discover how (and why) to collect, preserve, and propagate our local seeds; how to sustainably collect seeds from native plants, store those seeds and plant our next generation using “state of the science” techniques, for our future plants and bio system.

We will be joined by:

  • Carolyn Sears, Science Teacher, master gardener, and ex-Pound Rdige Conservation Board member

  • Emily Rauch, Native Plants program manager, Hilltop Hanover Farm and Environmental Center

  • Lindsey Feinberg, Native Plants Curator, Hilltop Hanover Farm and Environmental Center

PRLC is proud to sponsor this event alongside the Pound Ridge Conservation Board and the Pound Ridge Library.
